Purpose:
Peer Navigators reach out to young people with experience in foster care from partner states to help understand and access resources, talk about how things work or could work better, share insights from their own expertise and serve as peer supports to youth in transition.
Background:
The Peer Navigation model was founded on the belief that youth who successfully transitioned from foster care to young adulthood are the best role models for their peers. Peer Navigators receive training, support, and coaching to directly support their peers, reduce barriers and increase access.
