OUR YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM

We provide direct support to young people who experience foster care.

Being in foster care is tough. With resources and connections, young people can make it and thrive.

FosterClub's Youth Services team provides direct support to young people throught the following channels:

Peer Support

We believe that young people with experience in foster care are the best mentors and supporters of their peers. From internship cohorts, peer resourcing specialists, youth advisory boards & councils, youth conferences & events, and online MeetUps, Peer Support is central to how we deliver services and create community.

Training + Tools

From Lived Experience Leader Training bundles, the lived-experience leader Compensation Guide, SPARK workshops, our our online Learning Lab and in-person connections, FosterClub is committed to ensure youth-adult partnership and lived experience leadership is central to improving life in foster care across the country.

Resources

We provide direct support to young people through our Help Hub, FosterClub: The App, Peer Navigation and staff resourcing support for young people that reach out. It can be complex and confusing out there - we're here to help.

”There's a lot of money out there for foster youth to get what they need... use those resources... I have met a lot of people through being in college that knew nothing about these resources and I'm finding out about so many that I didn't know through FosterClub and other youth!

— Olivia Reeves, spent 3 years in the Michigan foster care system

Get to know the FosterClub Model of Youth Engagement.

Through FosterClub’s evidence-supported model, participants build self-efficacy, become empowered, and create community — ultimately bolstering their own resilience to live the fulfilling life they want for themselves. Developed over the past two decades — and with support and investment from our many partners across child welfare, the FosterClub model is now heralded as a best practice in the field. By design, the model is scalable and is ready to implement within your own organization, program, or community.

The Inputs:
Club Mentoring Framework

The FosterClub Model starts by creating a welcoming space where young people find peer support and build connections with Adult Mentors and Peer Leaders.

The Activities:
Full Circle Facilitation

Our peer-led Curriculum is designed so that all participants — young people and adult supporters — learn together, heal, and make the journey through foster care a little better

The Outputs:
Improved SPARK Competencies

FosterClub targets five strategic areas of growth to increase self-determination and resilience for system-involved young people, improving long-term outcomes across all traditionally-measured areas.
