I’m Sarah Aguirre. I live just north of Dallas with my husband, children and our Labrador puppy, Willow. I love crocheting, baking, watercolor painting, and anything related to creativity. I’m passionate about researching my family history and helping others with genetic genealogy. I have six kids ranging from ages 11 to 28, plus two grandsons! I have a deep obsession with history and could spend hours engrossed in long documentaries or books on any historical topic.
I am passionate about this work. Despite spending part of my childhood in foster care in Oklahoma, I felt isolated in that experience and didn’t know anyone else who had experienced that. It’s important to me that others don’t feel alone like I did. My biggest motivation is creating or contributing to something that has significant meaning for someone else. Through my role at FosterClub, I hope to turn my experiences—both good and bad—into a resource for others, just as others have done for me.
Sarah studied English and Secondary Education at Oklahoma State University. Before joining FosterClub, she worked as a high school teacher, librarian, writer, and editor for online publications, and as a consultant helping businesses grow using online tools. Over her 22 years in the online content space, she has developed strategies that have grown profiles to hundreds of thousands of followers and websites to millions of pageviews.
