Nate Prest
He/Him
5 Years in Care
Nate Prest’s journey began in foster care when he was just four days old, and his resilience has shaped him into a passionate advocate for youth with disabilities. After living with his foster family, he moved in with his nana, who became his biggest support until she passed away when he was twelve. After that, Nate returned to his former foster family, who had always stayed close. They officially adopted him after a few years, despite delays due to Covid.
Graduating high school was a huge moment for Nate—something he never thought would happen. Now, he’s a proud member of Transition Maine, a committee that helps youth transition to adulthood. Nate has used his voice to speak at youth summits, sharing his experience living with autism and showing others that they can achieve big dreams too.
Nate is currently working on a book about his foster care journey and living with autism, hoping to inspire others to keep pushing forward. He dreams of starting his own business to help others and show that anything is possible with determination.
