(She/Her) 10 Years in care
Monique lives in Nampa, Idaho, and is currently in the exciting process of buying her first home. A passionate and active person, she enjoys spending time at the gym, hiking, paddle boarding, exploring the outdoors, and immersing herself in EDM music. She’s also an adventurous foodie who loves trying new cuisines.
Something that surprises many people about Monique is that she served as a surrogate and helped bring two beautiful boys into the world—a gift she holds close to her heart.
Monique experienced foster care off and on from the age of 8 until she aged out. These personal challenges shaped her passion for supporting system-involved youth. She joined this Advisory Group to help bridge the gap between youth and the foster care system, using her lived experience to advocate for better communication, understanding, and lasting change.
She earned her GED from Granite Peaks High School in Utah, completed cosmetology school, and later earned her Idaho real estate license. Before joining the CFS Advisory Group, Monique owned and managed her own property management business.Despite the many obstacles she’s faced, Monique continues to move forward with resilience and purpose. She’s deeply committed to ensuring every young person’s voice is heard and valued.
