Michalann Clark

She/Her

9 Years in Care

Michalann Clark’s journey through foster care has been all about growth. She entered care at just 8 years old and faced a lot of tough situations, including a failed adoption. Even with all these challenges, Michalann never gave up on her dreams. After aging out of care in high school, she had to figure things out on her own juggling work, school, and learning to live independently. Her state did not have an extended foster care program.  Despite it all, she graduated high school with a 3.97 GPA, showing that no matter how tough things get, you can still push through and achieve big things.

Michalann's commitment to advocating for foster youth runs deep. She works as a Child Welfare Assistant for the Oklahoma Successful Adulthood (OKSA) Program and is pursuing a degree in Social Work at the University of Oklahoma. Michalann has spoken at numerous panels, written articles, and advocated for policy changes that center the needs of foster youth, using her voice to highlight the gaps in the system.

Her long-term goal is to guide youth aging out of foster care and ensure they have the support they need to succeed. Through her work, writing, and public speaking, Michalann is determined to make a lasting impact and change the narrative for foster youth everywhere.
