Lexie Lee
She/Her
6 Years In Care

Lexie was adopted from Bulgaria at 14, hoping for a fresh start, but just nine months later, she was placed back into foster care. From that point on, she moved through multiple foster homes and group homes, packing her life into bags over and over again. Each move meant leaving behind friends, starting at new schools, and learning to survive in unfamiliar environments.

Through the instability, Lexie found her voice. She learned how to speak up for herself when no one else would, and how to fight for the needs of others going through the same system.

Today, Lexie is studying criminal justice while working full-time and living independently. She’s passionate about giving back to her community volunteering at food banks, joining youth voice groups, and pushing for real change so that youth aging out of care are heard, supported, and not forgotten.

Her dream is to work in investigations or with the FBI, proving that your past does not define you and that strength can be built from even the most difficult beginnings.
