Leigh-Anna is a dedicated advocate for foster care reform and a member of the Youth Advisory Board for CASA-NYC in New York City. Leigh - Anna entered foster care in Alameda County, California at age 17. She aged out at 21, overcoming significant challenges. Graduating summa cum laude with two Bachelor’s degrees from The New School in 2021, she now works full-time as a paralegal at a nonprofit focused on housing justice while attending CUNY School of Law part-time. Upon finishing law school, she hopes to practice immigration law offering direct legal services to unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the United States or draft child welfare policy to reform the foster care system on the national level.
