I’m Laura Goble (She | Her | Hers), the Director of Youth Services at FosterClub based in Portland, OR. When I’m not in the city, you’ll probably find me out in nature, especially anywhere with tall trees and rushing water. Fun fact: I’ve visited all 50 states and watched the sunrise on five continents (South America and Antarctica, I’m coming for you).
My motivation for joining FosterClub comes from my deep belief in the power of youth voice and leadership. As a foster and adoptive parent, and through my work in higher education and national nonprofits, I've seen first hand how powerful things happen when young people are at the center of change. I feel most proud when I’m helping build spaces where young people and adult supporters lead together and systems listen.
Before joining FosterClub, Laura served in leadership roles at the University of Portland, Gannon University, and L’Arche USA. Laura earned a B.A. in Communication Arts with a Psychology minor from Gordon College and M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College. As a first-generation college graduate, she is committed to helping others access transformative opportunities, too.
