Larry Banks is a dedicated Social Services Program Director with YMCA Youth & Family Services in San Diego. With over 24 years of lived experience in the foster care system, Larry brings a unique and deeply personal perspective to his work. For the past 15 years, he has been committed to supporting current and former foster youth, guiding them with empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose as they navigate life beyond the system.
Larry leverages his own journey to empower young people, creating environments where they can build meaningful futures and strong relationships. His leadership is grounded in authenticity, advocacy, and a deep passion for youth development.
Outside of his professional role, Larry is a proud uncle to ten nieces and nephews. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games, and catching up on well-earned naps.
