Julienne Forehand
She/Her
1 Year in Care
Julienne is a first-generation college student and foster youth who turned her journey into purpose. After a childhood of instability and multiple placements, Julienne and her siblings found stability with a caring family friend, where she learned family, perseverance, and leadership.
As the oldest sibling, Julienne strives to be a role model, balancing academic excellence with commitment to her family and community. She graduated at the top of her class, earned numerous scholarships including The Gates Scholarship, and is pursuing a double major in Sociology (with a sub-major in Social Work) and Spanish, alongside a minor in Intergroup Relations at the University of Michigan.
Julienne is committed to supporting others with similar experiences. As an ambassador for the Intend to Attend program, she mentors high school students, helping them navigate college applications and envision their futures. She is also involved with the Blavin Scholars program, gaining exposure to foster care advocacy and support initiatives.
Her goal is to earn a Master’s in Social Work and dedicate her career to improving the foster care system, advocating for youth, and ensuring marginalized voices are heard. Julienne’s journey reflects resilience, leadership, and the power of giving back.
