Dakota Murrell lives in Oregon, and spent 13 years in foster care across two states. He loves basketball, video games, reading, and drawing, and he shares his home with his cat, Shadow. In high school, Dakota became the first in his close family to graduate, and he hopes to be the first to graduate from college as well. He currently attends Portland Community College and is working toward a degree in computer science.
Dakota joined FosterClub’s App Engagement Team in 2025 with a passion for helping others in the foster care system feel less alone and more supported. He knows firsthand how hard it can be to feel “normal” while in foster care and hopes to use his role to guide others through those struggles.
