Dakota is passionate about making a difference in the foster care community through advocacy and leadership. His journey in care began in 2020, during which time he experienced five different placements. Those experiences fueled his desire to create change and support other young people navigating the system. He is currently attending UW-Stevens Point, pursuing a degree in Social Work. His goal is to use his education and lived experience to uplift and empower foster youth. This may surprise you, but Dakota is dyslexic — yet that has never stopped him from pushing forward and becoming a better advocate.
