Courtney Price-Dukes
She/Her
2 Years in Care
Courtney has turned a challenging start in foster care into a decade-long journey of advocacy, leadership, and impact. After experiencing multiple placements within two years in the system, she committed herself to using her lived experience to support and empower other foster youth.
Courtney’s advocacy spans local, state, and national platforms. She has served as Miss Sedgwick County, Miss Augusta, Miss Emerald City, Miss Wichita, and Miss Wichita Volunteer, using her titles to amplify foster youth voices through her platform, Fostering the Future. She is a keynote speaker, TedX presenter, and board member of the Kansas Brave Youth Advisory Board. She has led advocacy and mentorship programs, trained CASA advocates, and represented youth perspectives in courtrooms and legislative spaces.
Academically, Courtney earned a full-ride scholarship to Wichita State University and was named Student of the Year. She is also a national award-winning screenplay writer and Juniper Arts Academy student advocate.
Currently, she continues to inspire change as an advocate supervisor with CASA, directly supporting youth while guiding volunteers to make a tangible impact. Courtney plans to pursue a master’s degree, expand her advocacy work, and continue fostering the future for the next generation of foster youth.
