Ben, an openly and proudly identified member of the LGBTQIA+ community, is deeply committed to empowering marginalized individuals to find their voice. They were previously featured in *Time* magazine, where they shared their personal experiences within the foster care system as a transgender individual. Ben's 12 years in foster care have cultivated an exceptionally open and understanding perspective, leading to a non-judgmental approach and a consistent willingness to listen. Their interest in OYAC stemmed from a realization that systemic improvements were necessary to create a more equitable and secure environment for all, not just a select few. Ben firmly believes that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to be heard and acknowledged.
