Ashanti Wince is a dedicated advocate and mother who has navigated significant challenges since aging out of foster care. As a young adult and a parent, she has faced numerous obstacles, including overcoming personal hardships and maintaining her mental health. Through it all, Ashanti continues to grow and develop, both as a mother and as an advocate for other youth in care.
For the past two years, Ashanti has worked with iFoster and AmeriCorps, helping youth like herself access vital resources such as childcare, school supplies, rent assistance, and more. She’s dedicated to supporting young parents and youth in foster care, using her voice to encourage others to ask questions, grow, and realize they are not alone.
Ashanti’s goal is to become a case manager and continue providing support to those in need. She also plans to open a home daycare, combining her passion for working with children and her desire to create a safe, nurturing space where kids can learn and thrive. Ashanti’s commitment to giving back and engaging with her community is at the heart of everything she does.
