He/Him
9 years in care
Aiden Abruzzino (he/him) is a FosterClub LEx Leader and 2025 National Foster Care Month Influencer, currently based in Western New York. Originally from Arkansas and Ohio, Aiden experienced foster care from age 8 until he aged out at 18. His lived experience has fueled a deep passion for advocacy—particularly around foster care reform, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and disability rights.
Aiden works as an Independent Living Specialist at Western New York Independent Living of the Genesee Region, where he supports young people transitioning into adulthood. He began his advocacy journey out of frustration with the one-sided, “feel-good” narratives often shared by agencies, and is committed to elevating real, unfiltered stories from care.
Outside of his professional work, Aiden shares his home with a vibrant menagerie—6 dogs, 11 cats, 9 rats, a bunny, a ball python, and two aquatic tanks. He enjoys diamond painting, music, reading, and deep-diving into research. Aiden looks forward to growing as a systems advocate and resource navigator.
