She/Her
2 years in care
Abby is a transition-age foster youth living in Oregon. After experiencing housing insecurity beginning at age 16, she is now stably housed in her own apartment with her cats, Athena and Sebastian—a milestone that reflects resilience, growth, and perseverance. Abby has spent two years formally in foster care, with longer involvement in child welfare services that shaped her passion for advocacy rooted in care, dignity, and sustainability.
Her lived experience drives her commitment to trauma-informed advocacy that values self-preservation and meaningful connection. Abby believes change does not have to come at the cost of burnout and often shows up through listening, self-growth, and community care, including sharing food and conversation with people she meets while out walking.
She practices American Sign Language and hopes to learn more languages to help break communication barriers. In her free time, Abby enjoys hiking, camping, art, video games, and relaxing with her cats, finding healing and hope in everyday moments.
