About this resource

Youth In Progress (YIP)'s mission is to support the lives of today’s and tomorrow’s foster youth by building self-worth, responsibility, and leadership. We educate others—including those working in child welfare—about the real experiences of youth in care.

Their Work

  • Serve on leadership boards for agencies and organizations at local, state, and national levels

  • Speak at conferences and events to share our stories and insights

  • Co-train caseworkers, foster parents, and care staff

  • Help create youth-focused training materials and videos

  • Lead and participate in focus groups

  • Host Youth Voice Events across regions

Goals

  • Influence policy and practice to improve transitions out of care
