The Wisconsin Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a dynamic group of current and former foster youth dedicated to enhancing the foster care system in Wisconsin. Established in 2005, YAC serves as a platform for youth to voice their experiences, advocate for change, and develop leadership skills.

Who can use this resource (eligibility)?

YAC is open to youth and young adults aged 14 to 26 who are eligible for Independent Living services, typically those with current or former foster care experience. Members have the opportunity to participate in regional councils and, potentially, the Statewide Advisory Council.
