About this resource
The REACH Program at the University of Alabama supports students with experience in foster care, kinship care, or other independent living situations. REACH provides personalized support, peer community, and resources to help students thrive in and out of the classroom.
Services include:
- A dedicated staff advisor
- Scholarships and financial help
- Peer and mentor support
- Emergency funds and food pantry access
- Academic and social enrichment
- Free printing and study space
Students can join at any time, with a special focus on helping first-year students transition successfully to college life.
Who can use this resource (eligibility)?
- Current/former foster youth, legal orphans, raised in kinship/guardianship care or homeless.
- Accepted for admission or currently enrolled at The University of Alabama.
- Incoming freshman are not required to complete the REACH application if you opted into the program via email.
- Current students are required to complete the REACH application.
