Tennessee: Ombudsman for Children and Families

About this resource

The Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth’s (TCCY) Ombudsman Program is here to help with problems related to foster care, kinship care, CPS, and DCS services in Tennessee. The Ombudsman is a neutral person who listens to concerns, gathers information, and works to find fair solutions that support children, youth, and families.

They don’t have legal power to change decisions, but they can review case files, talk to everyone involved, and speak up for what’s fair and in the best interest of the child. Anyone—whether you’re a young person, family member, caregiver, or professional—can reach out if you’re worried about a child’s safety, rights, or well-being.
