Pennsylvania Independent Living Services
About this resource
Independent Living (IL) Programs help current and former foster youth reach their independent living goals, providing services for education, employment, housing, monet management and building a support network to assist youth as they transition to adulthood.
Who can use this resource (eligibility)?
You might qualify for services or support if you fit into one of these categories:
-
A judge said you need to be in foster care (this is called being “dependent”).
-
You’ve been in both foster care and the juvenile justice system.
-
You’re in the process of being adopted or you’ve already been adopted.
-
You’re an immigrant or refugee with special status (also called a “qualified alien”).
-
You’ve been involved with the court system and both child welfare and juvenile probation are working with you.
If any of this sounds like your situation and you’re not sure what it all means, someone from your case team can help explain!
