Ohio: Independent Living Program
About this resource
In Ohio, local children’s agencies help young people in foster care who are 14 years old and up get ready to live on their own one day. These services can also help youth who are 18, 19, or 20 years old if they have left foster care but still need support.
Here are some of the ways they help:

Support for going to college or training after high school

Help getting ready for jobs and careers

Learning how to manage money and budgets

Help with housing and taking care of a home

Family support and learning about healthy relationships

These Young Adult Services are available through your local county children’s agency where you live. They are designed to help you as you work toward living on your own successfully.
