New Mexico: Foster Alliance
About this resource
The Foster Alliance (formerly NM Friends of Foster Children) offers a $1,000 scholarship to help cover school or training expenses. You can apply if you're 17–26, spent at least one year in New Mexico foster care (state or tribal), and are enrolled in college, trade school, or a similar program.
The scholarship can be used for tuition, books, supplies, fees, or even living costs. You’ll need to submit a completed application and a recommendation from an adult who knows you (like a foster parent, teacher, or caseworker).
You can apply every year you're in school—but only once per calendar year.
Who can use this resource (eligibility)?
Have been in the state or Tribal foster care system for at least one year at some time in your life (you are included even if you stayed with members of your family during that time)
