About this resource
What Is an Ombudsman?
An Ombudsman (a word from Swedish that means “helper” or “representative”) is someone who looks into complaints or concerns about how kids in foster care are being treated.
If you feel something isn’t right with a case or how someone is being treated in foster care, you can contact the Ombudsman to speak up.
Important:
The Ombudsman can’t help in emergencies. If a child is in danger, call the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-452-1999 or your local police right away.
PLEASE NOTE:
This state has an Ombudsman in every county. Be sure to select the one for the county you're in.
