New Jersey: New Jersey Foster Care Scholars Program

About this resource

The NJFC Scholars Program helps pay for school for eligible youth who have been in foster care, a  Child Protection & Permanency independent living program, or a transitional living program. It supports students going to a two-year or four-year college, university, or a career or technical school.

Who can use this resource (eligibility)?

  • Be between the ages of 16 and 23
  • Be in possession of a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency (GED)
  • Have been accepted into a college or program that has been accredited to receive Title IV funding
  • Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
