Nevada's Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS)

About this resource

If you’re a young person in foster care or have been in the system, the Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is the state agency that helps support kids, teens, and families involved in child welfare. They work to make sure youth are safe, supported, and connected to the resources they need.

DCFS handles things like:

  • Foster care and adoption

  • Helping families stay together (when safe)

  • Youth mental health and wellness

  • Support for youth transitioning out of care

  • Resources if you're in crisis or need someone to talk to

You have rights and your voice matters. DCFS also helps with leadership programs and sometimes holds events or trainings for young people who want to speak up and make change.
