Nebraska Youth Advisory Board

About this resource

A group of emerging young leaders from across Nebraska who use their lived experiences—including foster care, juvenile justice involvement, and other system connections—to drive positive change in the state’s child welfare and youth-serving systems.

What they do:

  • Advocate for better policies and support systems for youth.

  • Participate in annual Legislative Days, where they learn about the policy-making process and use their voices to influence laws based on first-hand experience nebraskachildren.org.

  • Contribute to statewide initiatives through the Connected Youth Initiative (CYI), which includes multiple youth advisory boards and leadership programs

Who can use this resource (eligibility)?

Have lived foster care experience.

Applications for membership are accepted biannually in early March and September.
