Montana - CASA - Gallatin County
About this resource
CASA/GAL of Gallatin County is a nonprofit organization that helps kids who have experienced abuse or neglect and are now involved in the court system.
The name CASA/GAL stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates / Guardian ad Litem. These are trained community volunteers who speak up for kids in court and make sure their needs are heard and met.
Here’s what they do:
-
Act as the eyes and ears for the judge, sharing honest and caring insights about the child’s life
-
Support and stand by children while they go through the court process
-
Make sure each child’s safety, well-being, and future are the top priority
-
Often become the one stable, trusted adult in a child’s life during a difficult time
CASA/GAL recruits and trains everyday people to be a support system for youth. Advocates stay with the child until they find a safe, permanent home and work to help them heal and grow stronger.
