About this resource
In Missouri, if you were in foster care on your 18th birthday or within 30 days before it, you can get free health insurance through Medicaid until you turn 26 years old—no matter how much money you make or what you own.
This program is called Health Care for Former Foster Care Youth (FFCY) and it helps make sure you can still see a doctor, get prescriptions, and take care of your health as a young adult.
Who can use this resource (eligibility)?
- Were in foster care on (or any time within 30 days before) your 18th birthday regardless of income or assets
- Are under the age of 26
- Are not eligible for health insurance through any other provider Were covered by Medicaid while in foster care
- The Missouri Children's Division (CD) automatically enrolls eligible youth in the FFCY program upon their exit from foster care.
