Massachusetts: Treehouse HEROS Program
About this resource
Treehouse is a nonprofit group that started in 2002. They work to make life better for kids and teens who have been in foster care.
They bring together people of all ages to support each other, speak up for change, and help young people who are leaving foster care. Treehouse also helps foster care alumni become leaders and share their voices in the child welfare system.
They call these leaders Champions, and they celebrate the difference they’re making! Below are their three pillars to programming:
Change:
Members get training and support to become leaders and speak up for youth who are in or have aged out of foster care.
Teach:
Members learn how to teach others about foster care and adoption so more people understand and care.
Build Community:
Members help create a strong, supportive group of people who care about the health and happiness of all youth in the Pioneer Valley.
