Kentucky: Higher Education and Education and Training Vouchers (ETV)
About this resource
If you’ve got foster care experience in Kentucky you might be eligible for major educational support—including free college tuition and up to $5,000 a year through the Education and Training Voucher (ETV) program.
The Tuition Waiver for Foster and Adopted Children covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees at any public university or KCTCS school in Kentucky. You can use it for up to 150 credit hours or until age 28, whichever comes first. Just be sure to apply within 4 years of high school graduation or GED, and stay in good academic standing. The site lists some Tuition Waiver eligible schools and instructions young people to complete section 1 of the tuition waiver form and return the form to the college's financial aid office.
The ETV program offers up to $5,000 per year to help with other school-related costs like books, housing, or supplies. You may also receive additional supports to help you stay on track in college or training programs. For more info on the ETV program you can email [email protected].
