Kansas Department of Children and Families

About this resource

The Department for Children and Families (DCF) is made up of dedicated public workers in over 35 service centers across Kansas. They offer a variety of important services like food assistance, help with utility bills, child care support, child support services, and education or job training.

DCF also works with partners to provide care for kids in foster homes. This includes helping with case planning, finding placements, teaching life skills, and recruiting and training foster parents. They team up with different organizations, communities, and agencies to connect families, children, and vulnerable adults with the resources and support they need in their own neighborhoods.

The main goal of DCF is to help Kansans of all ages. They provide essential support to keep kids safe, strengthen families, and help adults become more self-sufficient. DCF focuses on the strengths of individuals and families, helping them become more independent while providing guidance and support every step of the way.
