JC Smith University Phasing Up Program

About this resource

The Phasing Up Program at Johnson C. Smith University supports students who have aged out of foster care or experienced housing insecurity. To join, you need to be a full-time undergraduate student at JCSU and be willing to stay in touch with program staff and take part in activities that fit your needs.

As a participant, you’ll get:

  • Regular one-on-one coaching sessions

  • Invites to special events and workshops

  • A chance to apply for program scholarships

  • Ongoing support to help you stay on track academically

Who can use this resource (eligibility)?

• Are enrolled at Johnson C Smith University as an undergraduate student; and,

• Had an open foster care case at or above the age of 13; or,

• Experienced foster care at any age and show current evidence of severe and chronic deficits in familial support

• Experienced or has been touched by housing insecurity
