Education and Training Voucher (ETV) - Georgia

About this resource

Education & Training Voucher funds, most commonly called ETV, are available to young adults who experienced foster care to assist with attending a vocational school, community college, or university. ETV funds may be used for necessary education expenses like tuition, textbooks, computer, etc.

A branch within the Office of Public Service and Outreach at the University of Georgia manages the ETV application process. They have a contract with the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services to provide the ETV funding.

Based on need, foster youth may access:

You may receive $5,000 per year (July 1st-June 30th)

PLEASE NOTE:

If all tuition, housing, and book costs are covered by other funding, ET Vouchers may be used for other needs, if approved by an Independent Living Specialist (ILS or IL Specialist)
You will need to reapply every year!

Chafee Stipends

Students may be eligible to receive a $300 or $600 per month stipend while participating in the ETV program
Ask your IL Specialist or a Specialist nearest you about these additional Chafee stipends!
