Colorado Youth Advisory Council (COYAC)

About this resource

COYAC is a council made up of youth leaders from across Colorado. It gives young people a chance to make a difference in their communities and advocate for policies that matter to them.

Council Composition:

  • 40 youth members

    • 35 voting members, each representing a Colorado senate district

    • 1 voting member from the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe

    • 1 voting member from the Southern Ute Indian Tribe

    • 3 non-voting members selected to ensure diversity, especially for rural areas

  • Terms:
    • 2-year terms, starting on July 1

    • Members can serve more than one term
