- FYTP can support you in getting safe, affordable, and stable housing.
- FYTP can help you reach your educational goals.
- FYTP can support you in getting a driver's license or other state ID, as well as other important documents.
- FYTP can help you get information about relatives and siblings.
Youth in FYTP have rights. They must receive notice of those rights. Courts must enforce those rights. Their attorney can help them with those rights.
Who can use this resource (eligibility)?
To qualify, you must:- Be at least 18 but not yet 21.
- Be or plan to (a) complete high school or get a GED; (b) attend college or a university or vocational school; (c) work at least 80 hours amonth; or (d) participate in a job-finding program. You are unable to do (a-d) due to a medical condition.
- Have lived in licensed foster care on or after your 6th birthday, lived in unlicensed care and a court found you dependent and/or neglected, you have an open D&N case, or you had an open D&N case when you were 18.
- Be willing to sign an agreement to work with the county department or have already signed one and are following most of it.
