You're Invited: National Policy Council's Roundtable on Social Capital

Graphic for the 2025 Virtual Roundtable titled ‘Access Granted: Mapping Pathways and Networks That Nurture,’ happening December 11, 2025, from 2–3:30 EST. Includes brief descriptions of three topics: Mapping the Path Forward, Access & Belonging Networks, and From Learning to Earning.

Young people in and from foster care often leave the system without the networks and relationships needed to thrive in adulthood.

On December 11, 2025, the National Foster Youth & Alumni Policy Council (the Council) is bringing together young people, foster parents, child welfare professionals, and policymakers for an urgent conversation building belonging, bridging social capital, human capital, and social connections. We want every young person to have access to people, places, and pathways that support their success.

You’re invited to join us.

Who's Leading This

The Council is a national group of young people with lived experience in foster care who use their stories, skills, and leadership to inform policies. They’ve sat in courtrooms. They’ve lived in group homes. They’ve navigated therapy that didn’t fit—and sometimes found what worked.

This Roundtable isn’t about theories.

It’s about real-life solutions designed with youth, not just for them.

Join The Conversation

Similar to our last roundtable on mental health, we’ll dive deep into three core themes that are reshaping the conversation on social capital for foster youth:

Mapping the Path Forward: Building Connection Through Assessments and Access

Access & Belonging Networks: Creating Community Networks that Reflect and Uplift Youth

From Learning to Earning: Designing Education and Workforce Pathways That Last

Don’t miss out – the Council will unveil a brand-new work product packed with actionable strategies, so attendees can walk away with tools to create change in their own communities.
