Rob Vescovo served in the Missouri House of Representatives and was formerly the Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives and now works in various contexts to influence education related initiatives. Rob Vescovo’s story begins before he can remember it, in the foster care system.

As an infant, Rob entered foster care and was later adopted, giving him a permanent family and the stability that every young person deserves. While his time in care happened early in life, it shaped the foundation of his story and the opportunities that followed. Rob often acknowledges that adoption changed the trajectory of his life and opened doors that might not otherwise have been available to him.

During his time in the legislature, Rob focused heavily on issues related to education, workforce development, and economic opportunity. These policy priorities were rooted in the belief that young people deserve access to stability, choice, and long term success. While he does not often center his own foster care experience in the spotlight, his journey stands as a reminder that young people who experience foster care can and do go on to become leaders at the highest levels of government.

Rob’s path from foster care to the Speaker’s gavel reflects that experience in care does not define limits, it reveals potential. With the right support, young people from foster care can grow into decision makers shaping laws, communities, and futures.
