This year marks a milestone for FosterClub: 25 years of standing alongside young people in and from foster care.

What began as a bold belief — that young people with foster care experience deserve connection, opportunity, and a voice in shaping the systems that impact their lives — has grown into a national movement grounded in lived experience leadership.

Our newly released 2025 Impact Report & Annual Report tells the story of a year that tested us — and strengthened us.

In 2025, FosterClub navigated a turbulent political and economic landscape, including the loss of nearly all federal funding that had helped sustain our work. It was a moment that required resilience, creativity, and deep trust. Through it all, one thing did not waver: our commitment to young people.

And the impact is real.

683,000 youth reached through digital and in-person outreach

13,948 youth received training or 1:1 support

673,000 adult allies reached with tools and technical assistance

435 active Lived Experience (LEx) Leaders shaping programs and policy

1,076 service projects carried out by young people with first-hand experience in foster care

This report highlights how FosterClub is:

  • Expanding peer support and mental health resources
  • Strengthening pathways for young adults aging out of care
  • Elevating the needs of immigrant and Native youth
  • Setting the national bar for authentic, effective lived experience leadership

FosterClub’s work is carried out in partnership with more than 435 active Lived Experience (LEx) Leaders across the country — young people ages 16–30 who volunteer their time, insight, and leadership to make foster care better for their peers. That is our “magic sauce.” And after 25 years, we are just getting started.

Together, we are making foster care better.
